About PROMED

The Council for the International Promotion of Costa Rica Medicine - PROMED is a non for profit organization which coordinate the efforts carried out to assure the quality that the Health Industry of Costa Rica serves, as well as internationally promote them.
The purpose of Promed is to unify the country as the center of international medicine and the leaders of health and health tourism destinations. Its conformation arises from the private and State sectors to supervise the quality of service to medical tourism patients, with the last aim to guarantee the sustainable growth of this industry.
PROMED develops regulatory norms and promotes the certification of the lenders of services, which carry out with international support the organisms and the qualification of local certifiers.
